Appointment Information

  • To comply with insurance and best practice protocols, a veterinary referral form must be completed before treatment of any cases that are for injury or rehabilitation purposes. This allows me to fully understand your animal’s background and determine the most effective treatment techniques. All you need to do is fill out a booking form and select the appointment is for rehabilitation. For maintenance or performance cases, a referral is not required but i still will require your veterinarians contact in case of collaboration or referral back to them.

  • Initial Consultation: ~1.5 hours (thorough assessment & allowing your animal time to relax).
    Follow-Up Sessions: ~1 hour

Each session begins with a detailed gait assessment and analysis to evaluate symmetry, movement, and areas for improvement. This is often repeated following treatment to once again check for changes.

    Treatments may include:

    • Massage myofascial & manual therapy – Soft tissue work can improve joint mobility, reduce pain and aid relaxation and comfort
    • Electrotherapy and K-tape – I am trained to use Laser, pulsating magnetic therapy, therapeutic ultrasound, TENS and NMES machines which may be used to aid pain or get deeper into tissues. These are great for tendon injuries and treating muscular stiffness or neurological conditions
    • Targeted exercises – My passion is targeted exercises, this is where we see the magic happen and by stimulating different areas we can provide strength and stability to areas of injury or weakness. This might include wobble cushion work, pole-work or specific movements to build muscle.

To ensure long-term results, I will provide a personalised home exercise plan tailored to your animal’s needs, this will be emailed out free of charge alongside a set of clinical notes after the initial appointment.

  • Most pet insurance companies cover physiotherapy, but I ask for payment at the time of treatment. A receipt will be issued, which you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement. Please read your policy carefully as some have a limit on the number of sessions they will cover or up to a value. I aim to keep my price point extremely reasonable to allow for the most benefit to all clients.

  • If you need to cancel your appointment, I will do my best to accommodate a suitable reschedule. However, cancellations within 24 hours will incur a £15 fee, as this slot could have been offered to another client and most likely will not be filled in time.

  • It is normal for animals to feel sore or slightly stiff for 24-48 hours after a physiotherapy session as their body adjusts.

    • No intense exercise on the same day as treatment.
    • Reduce workload the next day to allow proper recovery.
    • If soreness persists for more than 3 days please contact me or your veterinarian
