What is manual therapy ?
Manual therapy is a hands-on combination of massage, trigger point release, myofascial release and stretching. I offer targeted treatment to address stiffness, soreness, and reduced mobility. I monitor the tissues as they are treated and ensure the level is just right to keep your animal at peak performance.
Every session begins with a detailed palpation assessment, where I evaluate: joints, muscles, and symmetry of your animal’s body. Based on what is found, the most suitable combination of manual therapy techniques and, electrotherapy may be used.
Why manual therapy is more than massage
Manual therapy is deeply individualised. I use over a decade of clinical experience to assess your animal’s movement and apply the most effective treatment on the day.

- Massage
- Palpation assessment
- Trigger point release
- Range of motion assessment
- Lymphatic drainage
- Joint mobilisations
- Myofascial release
Will my dog or horse enjoy manual physiotherapy ?
Manual therapy can be great if your animal is nervous, as it can be very relaxing. It releases endorphins (feel good hormones) which can be great for pain relief and promote comfort.
What if my animal doesn’t like being touched ?
For animals who do not like to be touched there are a variety of alternatives. Sessions are always adapted to suit your pet’s comfort level. If hands-on work isn’t the right fit, we can focus more on exercise-based rehabilitation or use other non-invasive techniques. The goal is always the same: to help your animal feel better in a way that works for them.
