Is treatment covered by insurance?

This is dependent on your personal policy, you will need to read your coverage for complimentary therapies. If you provide your contract, I can assist in determining if the policy includes coverage. Most insurance policies will cover up to ten sessions or up to a fixed amount. My registration through IRVAP is accepted by most insurance policies.

What locations do you cover?

The areas I most commonly work in are: Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Bury, Ashton-Under-Lyne, Halifax, Sowerby Bridge, Luddenden Foot, Milnrow, Shaw, Haywood, Bolton. However I would be happy to asses new areas based on availability.

How long does a session last?

Typically the initial session can last one and half hours, subsequent sessions are approximately an hour but may vary depending on the work needed. However this is not to a fixed timescale as the outcome of the session is more important than the time taken.

Do I need to prepare anything before the session?

Yes, for equine appointments please make sure your horse is inside, well rested, with clean and dry legs/ coat. This enables full use of the specialist equipment as muddy coats can impair assessment. For canine appointments, your dog will need to be clean and dry, well rested and a small space will be needed with blankets or rugs as they may wish to lie down. If you supply their favorite treats, this usually helps the session to go smoothly.

Do I need to be aware of anything post-session?

Your animal may experience some soreness the day after, reduced workload for the day after will be appropriate, this means competition or performance animals may not be at their best immediately following physiotherapy. Notes can be provided after the session so you do not need to worry about forgetting the information given during the session

How many sessions do I need?

This depends on a number of factors the condition your pet has, the goals you want to achieve and how involved you want to be with the process. A more accurate estimation can be provided after an initial consultation.
